“I’m Brooke, and this is flower farming AND designing florals on a small scale, high intensity, first generation, Female owned, flower farm...

With the support of my husband and parents, my dream of a flower farm has come to life; in the back of a big open field, just outside of the city of Goldsboro, NC.

Becoming a farmer has taught me a great deal of patience and brought me so much joy! Every season on the farm comes with it’s own change and beauty, most of which is happening outside of my control… I would not trade my time on the farm for anything. It wouldn’t be the same without my family, who has been beside me since this crazy dream started to come into fruition. (Maybe I had to sort of drag them along! HA.) Becoming a farmer is the most rewarding thing I've ever done, but also one of the most challenging;

farming is hard work! But the outcome is glorious.

Growing Flowers is a MIRACULOUS process…”

Some of my favorite memories revolve around time spent outside with family.

That is what my heart wants most for my flower farm to always be, a place my family will spend time outside together. A place to raise Joanna with my husband; hopefully her grandparents will always come out here to play and run through the mud and flowers with her!

Growing up, my Mom and Dad created a flower and vegetable garden for my sister and I around our little playhouse. There were usually zinnias, sunflowers, strawberries, and tomatoes. We even painted flowers on the back wall of the little yellow play house; we spent many afternoons out there playing together. I played outside for many hours every day and have the best childhood memories.

My Papa was a Master Gardener. My Granddaddy planted a field of corn every year for the family. My sister, cousins, and I had the dreaded task of shucking the corn and getting the silks off, so our families could freeze it and pull a bagout at a time all year. Under a shade tree, we called Bob 93.3, requesting to hear the latest hits while we worked on the mountain of corn piled on the tailgate of a truck. Today, this is such a happy memory! They are both no longer here on earth with me... Family time is irreplaceable,

my farm has brought my family together…More than I ever dreamed it would!

I know we can’t all be farmers, but let me encourage you to get in touch with the spirit of many of your ancestors; plant a small garden or at least a flower pot. Experiment with seeds or seedlings; tend to them by providing sunshine and water and carefully pull out the weeds. If you kill it, you’ll lose a few bucks; you can start over again…and again. You might gain something priceless from this if you manage to keep your little seeds alive until they become big plants...

Encouragement, hope, maybe a reason to get out of bed!

There’s so much research revealing that a bouquet of flowers, and time spent in nature

benefits our mental and physical health!

Coming from a family whose roots run deep in

the mental health field, this makes sense to me. Seeing the looks on my grandmothers’

faces when I started bouncing into their homes with bouquets, helped me fall in love with

flower farming! Flower farming and design work is a way I can meet new

people in my hometown. Growing flowers is changing my life…

Farming keeps me in tune

with the weather; the temperature, the wind speed, the amount of rain coming down.

Farming keeps me in tune with the One who is in control of the weather
